15 January 2011: Notice for TRV Application Form Acceptance
Effective immediately, the Visitor, Student and Worker application forms that will be accepted by Citizenship and Immigration Canada will be the new Application Forms enclosed in this website (IMM 5257, IMM 1294, and IMM1295). To ensure you have the most recent application form, please download the application forms from our website and discard any previous downloads. Once the application is completed, click on the “Validate” button located at the top or bottom of the form and print your application form. This will generate a barcode page (page 5 of 5). When submitting your application, to ensure your encoded data is captured, you must include the last page (page 5 of 5) which contains your unique barcodes.
TIP: Do you assist others to fill in application forms? You can save the new TRV application form with some fields completed. Download the form and fill in any fields where you will enter the same information whenever you prepare an application. Do not press Validate at this time. Save the form and you can use it as a template.
When you wish to prepare an application, complete the form for each applicant and press validate, and then print. Please ensure that you use a high quality printer and paper."
22 November 2010: Changes to Visa Requirements for Holders of Taiwan Issued Passports
- As of November 22, 2010, the following applicants do not require temporary resident visas to enter Canada:

Holders of an ordinary passport issued in Taiwan where the Issuing Authority is stated as "Ministry of Foreign Affairs" and that include the holder's personal identification number. |
- However, applications may continue to be accepted from the following applicants:

Holders of any passport issued in Taiwan not mentioned in section 1, including return certificates, also known as "compatriot passports," issued in Taiwan. These applicants continue to require a temporary resident visa to enter Canada. |

Holders of any passport issued in Taiwan, including passports mentioned in section 1, who became Permanent Residents of Canada but who are not in possession of a PR Card continue to require a Permanent Resident Travel Document. |

Holders of any passport issued in Taiwan, including passports mentioned in section 1, who wish to work or study in Canada and are not permit-exempt continue to require a work or study permit. |
